The most obvious sign of tin’s robust fundamentals is the continuing and rapid drawdown of LME inventories. There was another substantial 4% fall last week, and total stocks have now declined by 23% since early June and 39% since the start of the year. However, the pace of withdrawals have slowed and cancelled warrants have more than halved from the mid-June highs to around 1,000 tonnes. Total stocks were last at 16,205 tonnes, as reported today, with 1,050 tonnes earmarked for withdrawal.
