CFTC data shows that net non-commercial open interest in Comex copper has declined for four consecutive weeks up to May 18. We believe the next report is likely to show it continued to decline last week too. The net speculative position remains long, even though outright long positions have been reduced by 34% in the past month. Interestingly, outright shorts have also fallen, by 6.5%.
