According to preliminary data released by the NBS, China’s output of refined copper hit 637,958 tonnes in October, up from September’s record high of 620,086 tonnes. However, we note that on a daily output basis there was actually a minor decline from 20.67 tpd to 20.58tpd. On a year-to-date basis, refined copper production is running ahead by 15.5%, but this rate of increase has been steadily quickening in recent months.
