Aluminium prices continued to remain under pressure last week, sliding to a low of $1,948.50/tonne on Wednesday. A subsequent recovery to $1,986.50/tonne proved unsustainable, as prices headed lower again on March 11 - the price at the time of writing being $1,942/tonne. Although US employment data last week was bullish, poor Chinese data out over the weekend that showed worse than expected retail sales, industrial production and new loans, have weighed on sentiment.
