The pull-back in zinc prices off the January 3 high of $2,187/tonne seems to have run its course now, as a rebound started to get underway last Thursday and prices remained elevated on Monday. Given the fundamentals, it is difficult to be bullish for zinc in the near term. Prices have already climbed off the lows seen during last summer and the improved economic outlook for China and the USA has probably driven that.
