Two new complexes {[M(TIPA)(tdc)(H2O)]center dot H2O}(n) {M = Co-II, Mn-II, TIPA = tris[4-(1H-imidazol-1-yl)phenyl]amine, H(2)tdc = = thiophene-2,5-dicarboxylic acid} have been synthesized hydrothermally based on the N-centered tripodal ligand TIPA. These isostructural compounds exhibit twofold interpenetrated 3D pillar-layered structures with (6(3))(6(9).8) gra topology.
