Sentiment improved last week, and if this more upbeat tone persists it should allow base metal prices to continue their latest rally. Perhaps the most noteworthy factor that contributed to last week’s improvement was the IMF’s upgrade of its economic growth forecast for 2010, from 4.2% to 4.6%. Coming on the back of weeks of worry that the global recovery was faltering, this may help to settle some nerves.
