This week we focus on the health of the stainless steel market. The US market seems to have turned a corner. Confidence in demand is clearly evident along the stainless steel supply chain. Construction-related demand remains an issue, with residential construction still hampered by stock overhang. However, even white-good manufacturers could expect renewed demand in the near future, as demand for dining-out is incentivising restaurant construction, which indicates strengthening consumer spending.
