Last week saw aluminium embark on a gentle but steady downward trend. A stronger dollar/Euro rate, on the back of renewed concerns emanating from Greece, was amongst the main reasons for the correction. As news in Europe started to go sour, investors decided to take profits and lock some of the gains accumulated after several weeks of price strength. This was reflected in a simultaneous fall-off in LME open interest and prices.
