Tin has not only been the worst price performer of the base metals in the early months of 2015, but it has also seen very weak demand growth. According to the WBMS, global tin demand increased by just 1% year-on-year during the first two months of 2015. Looking at this in more detail, Chinese demand grew by 5.9% while demand in the rest of world fell by 3.0%.
