LME lead stocks climbed 3,350 tonnes last week to 220,550 tonnes and the underlying trend in stocks has been higher since the lows around 190,375 tonnes in early June. The 30,175 tonne increase since then does not go hand-in-hand with the market being in a deficit, especially as the bulk of the stock inflows have been into Europe.
