Talk continues of threats to Indonesian exports if prices remain beneath $23,000/tonne, but tin has shown no sign of moving anywhere near to that target level anytime soon. In theory this should be triggering more alarm bells in Indonesia, but in reality the appetite amongst most producers to carry out such a threat is not great. Cash LME prices have now been below $23,000/tonne for close to six weeks (and year-to-date averages are running at just $22,835/ tonne), and there has been no evidence of a greater tightness in tin supply as a direct result.
