The aluminium spreads continue to tighten with the cash to three-month spread last at $4-9/tonne contango, having averaged around $23/tonne contango so far in October, and $31/tonne contango in September. The narrower spread is prompting short-covering, which has been one of the reasons behind the stronger three-month price in recent weeks.
