Aluminium prices sold off to $1,671.25/ tonne last Monday, but after dropping for ten consecutive days the market had become oversold. Not surprisingly prices have rebounded and it is now a case of waiting to see if this is a dead-cat bounce in reaction to being oversold, or whether the dip to fresh 5-year lows has prompted sufficient bargain hunting to underpin prices at higher levels.
