In last week’s report we noted that Chinese refined tin production had increased by 17.2% over the January-July period to 101,600 tonnes. At the same time, both refined tin imports and exports have been falling, although exports of tin in “other” forms are on the rise. And yet when it comes to anecdotal evidence on the state of Chinese tin consumption (i.e. not a statistically generated apparent consumption number), the news is getting increasingly gloomy.
