Third International Workshop on Biosensors for Food Safety and Environmental Monitoring Fez,Morocco,18-20 October 2007

This Workshop was held In Fez,Morocco,in continuation of previous workshops held in Agadir(2005)and Marrakech(2003).Once again,experts from around the world were able to share their knowledge.Professor Aziz Amine from the University Hassan II-Mohammedia acted as the Chairperson.Research on biosensors continues to play an important role in the development of devices for food safety and environmental monitoring and to be used both in the laboratory and in the field.Owing to the increasing presence of contaminants in food and in the environment,there is a strong need for development of rapid analytical systems such as biosensors for measurements in real samples.Recent developments in this area included fundamental advances and new applications as well as addressing the challenges associated with portable and robust analytical devices for uses outside the laboratory.
