The nature of commercial transactions in our business has changed since the events of 2001.In the aftermath,many energy companies had meltdowns.On the surface,you may not have noticed any differences when it comes to structuring supply programs or setting up credit with suppliers.Companies ranging from energy producers(E&P)to the midstream(gas processing and refining),to the end user(industrial,commercial,agriculture,and residential)are seeing differences in structuring,managing,and closing commercial transactions.Behind the scenes many companies in the energy industry-and in industry in general-were reviewing the way they needed to do business,and in 2002,we found firms implementing those changes.
