Azido derivative of a hemicyanine dye with high sensitivity to visible light

The synthesised (E)-1-methyl-4-(4-azidostyryl)quinolinium iodide has the quantum yield of photodissociation 0.84±0.17, which is independent of excitation wavelength (365-485 nm) and dissolved oxygen.
