LANSING, Mich.—Assistant Michigan Supervisor of Wells Hal Fitch this week issued Supervisor of Wells Instruction 1-2015, which addresses oil and gas development in high density population areas. According to the Instruction, which was issued on Feb. 10, 2015, with an effective date of Feb. 24, 2015, the purpose of the Instruction is "to minimize potential land use conflicts over oil and gas development in areas with high residential population densities while protecting the rights of mineral owners and lessees to explore for and develop oil and gas resources on their property."
