EEM Tony Howard Scholarship award to help recipient Nathan Kerns continue on with college pursuits after family move

ROCKFORD, Mich. —For one of the recipients of the Energy Education for Michigan (EEM) Tony Howard Scholarship, the timing of the financial award established to help current college students who are looking to become future participants in the oil and natural gas industry couldn't have been better. Nathan Kerns of Rockford, Mich., along with William Pearson of Lake City, Mich., Reinald Deda of Dearborn, Mich., and Edward Duda of Commerce, Mich., are the first college students to each receive a $500 award for the 2011-12 academic year from the scholarship fund established in honor of the late Charles P. 'Tony" Howard, a veteran figure in Michigan's oil and gas industry for more than five decades.
