摘要

Electrochemical oxidation of iodide in the presence of barbituric acid has been studied using cyclic voltammetry and controlled-potential coulometry. The results indicate that the resulting iodine takes part in halogenation reaction and reacts with barbituric acid. According to obtained results, a new coulometric titration method with potentiometric end-point detection for the determination of barbituric acid is presented. In the presented method, 1-200 mu mol of barbituric acid was successfully determined. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved. [References: 22]
