Drilling up 13 percent in 2008 over 2007 despite slow finish to year

MT.PLEASANT,Mich.-Michigan oil and gas drilling activity was up by 13 percent in 2008 over 2007,despite a slow finish to the year,particularly in November and December.A total of 546 holes reached total depth during the calendar year,according to a preliminary tally of activity conducted this week by Michigan Oil & Gas News,compared to 483 holes drilled in 2007.
