Simple on-site tests using XAD resin with immobilized reagent: Determination of copper at parts-per-billion and sub-parts-per-billion levels

Simple on-site tests using an XAD resin with immobilized reagent are proposed. The selectivity may be improved by adding suitable masking agents at a certain pH. The high sensitivity is due to the fact that the reaction is taking place at a small, concentrated area. Another advantage is that simple equipment and small amounts of reagents are used with rapid, on-site results. An example of estimating ppb copper is presented. (C) 1998 Academic Press.
