PLEASANT, Mich. —First half Michigan oil and gas drilling activity continues to lag well behind the levels seen in the first decade of the 21st century, with a preliminary tally of drilling completions for the January through June 2013 period conducted this week by Michigan Oil & Gas News showing that 61 holes had reached total depth during the first two quarters.
