The State Key Laboratory in Oncology in South China (SKL), Sir Y.K. Pao Center for Cancer at the Prince of Wales Hospital-inaugurated in November 2006 by Professor Xu Guan Hua, Minister of Science and Technology, People's Republic of China-is a national-level cancer research center. Our work focuses on cancers with particularly high prevalences in Asia, including nasopharynx cancer (N PC), hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), gastric cancer, and adenocarcinoma of lung. The SKL is under the directorship of Academician Hsiang Fu Kung and associate directorships of Professors Y.M. Dennis Lo, Anthony T.C. Chan, and Ho Keung Ng.
