The temperaturedependenceoflightyieldanddecayconstantsofacerium-dopedyttriumaluminumperovskiteYAP(Ce)scintillatorexcitedby a-rayirradiationisstudiedbetween290and460K.Thescintillationisfoundtobecomposedofthreedecaycomponentswithdifferenttemperaturedependencies.Afastscintillationcomponentwithadecaytimeof 6 nsisalmostindependentoftemperature;thedecaytimeofthemaincomponentdecreasesfrom32to26nswithincreaseintemperature from290to400Kbutincreasesabove400K,andaslowcomponentwithadecaytimelarger than240nsbecomesclearlyvisibleattemperaturesbelow360K.Thetotallightyieldincreasesslightly asthetemperatureincreasesupto330Kanddecreasesabove330K.Theseresultsareessentiallyinterpretedusingatwo-shallow-trapmodelproposedbyWojtowiczetal.,butanadditionalmechanismwouldberequiredathighertemperatures
