摘要

Sintered friction materials are of a complexcomposite composition, consisting usually of metals, metalliccompounds and non-metallic constituents.This paper presents the results of the research regarding theobtaining of some friction materials out of powders recoveredfrom worn-out catalyses resulted from chemical industry. Asnonmetallic components have used SiO_2, asbestos and graphite.Copper powder with rather good adaptability to manufacture areproduced. Optimal conditions are stated for production ofmaterials under study (compacting and sintering, heat temperature).I have studied the influence of the nonmetallic components and ofthe process conditions on the characteristics of the final friction materials.Copper-based sintered friction materials are promising for work instopping brakes and clutches.
