摘要

In recent years has been done many studies on the chemical composition of exotherm powders and a variety of products on hot top or riser of ingots. In this study were investigated internal defects of two 16MnCr5 (1.7131) steel ingots with the same tonnage and with two different exotherm powders. For this purpose, different amounts of aluminum oxide and silicon oxide were used in these two types of powders. The results showed, exotherm powder with higher values of aluminum oxide makes fewer internal, defect in ingots.
