The idea behind any flexible metal forming process is to use simple tools, whose position and velocity can be controlled to give a large variety of workpieces, with different shapes, with the minimum expenditure of both time and cost. Using these criteria, dieless drawing appears to be a possibly useful industrial technique as its associated local deformation and stability can be controlled simply by adjusting the velocities at the entry and a exit of the deformation zone.
