LASER SURFACE HARDENING OF THE OSC8 STEEL

Laser hardened surface of steels has recently become of commercial interest. In this paper the influence of the laser power and traverse speed on the microstructure and hardness for the steel OSC8 was investigated. After heat treatment with laser the structure of the steel become a very thin and dense one and the hardness reach around 700 HV_(0,05).
