Focusing on Day-to-Day Transit Security Part of Strategy to Mitigate Larger Threats

Transit police forces are employing technology, high-visibility patrols and communication tools to harden their systems. Over the past two decades, terrorist attacks across the globe have shaped the focus of security. In response, transit system police forces shifted their strategies to a strong focus on terrorism and countering the potential for terrorism, says Greg Hull, APTA's assistant VP, public safety, operations and technical services.
