The paper presents our researches on the HSS T_1, M_2, M_1 (AISI) si S 3.3.2. (SEW320), classically and cryogenically treated (-94deg F, -184deg F, -320deg F). The increased durabilities for the cryogenic variants of thermal treatment can be attributed to some profound changes of residual austenite to the forming of some uniformly-distributed fine precipitates as well as to the increase of the martensite alloying degree.
