Voest-Alpine Tubulars to modernize rotary hearth furnace

Voest-Alpine Tubulars GmbH & Co KG, Kindberg/Aumuhl, has placed an order with LOI Thermprocess for the modernization of a rotary hearth furnace at its Donawitz plant. The electronic control system of the furnace is also to be modernized. The objective of the modernization is to boost pipe production capacity at the plant to 800 t per shift. The furnace capacity will need to be increased from approx. 60-75 t/h to 108 t/h.
