Modernisation of the hot strip mill in the IIIitch steelworks, Ukraine

摘要

This hot strip mill is the largest plant in the Ukraine with an annual output of 4.4 million t. The first step of an ambitious modernisation program was to install thickness and width control, profile and flatness control and a quick work rollchange. The technology encompasses new mechanical and hydraulic components as well as state-of-the-art automation control. The hot coils have very good gauge, width and flatness tolerances and fulfil the demands of the automotive industry, thus giving the steelworks a leading position among Russian and Ukrainian steel producers.
