Alpa starts up endless welding and rolling line

In early April 2001, the first EWR endless welding and rolling line in Europe started operation at the Alpa-Acieries et Laminoirs de Paris (Riva group) 700 000 t/a bar mill.Alpa's bar mill, originally supplied by Danieli Morgardshammar in the mid-1970s, underwent a major upgrading that included the installation of the new 100 r/h EWR line, a new 6-stand ESS compact twist-free rougher and a rotating-type billet descaler.
