Austrian Industrial Firm Owner of Emco-Maier, Buys DS Technologie

A-TEC Industries A.G. (Vienna, Austria), an industrial holding company with interests in machine tools, metallurgy, drive systems, and plant engineering, has acquired the shares of Dorries Scharmann Tecinologie G.m.b.H. (Monchengladbach, Germany). A-TEC, which had earlier purchased Austria-based Emco Group, acquired the German builder of traditionally large machine tools from Deutsche Beteiligungs A.G., which in turn had started acquiring shares in DST in 1998 and which has investments in 40-plus companies. The two parties agreed not to divulge the selling price or terms.
