Optimised blast furnace wall cooling with copper stavelets

摘要

Copper staves in blast furnaces have proved their excellent performance in numerous applications. The next generation, socalled copper stavelets, feature a simplified design and are now in the testing phase. The main targets to be achieved are reduction of the cooling water flow rate, increase in the water heating rate, higher working volume of the blast furnace and easier and faster installation. The first results are very promising.
