Aylesbury based Dorman Machinery, has announced an order for a Modler centreless, match grinding, machine cell with a value in excess of 1 million pounds. The twin machine cell, when installed later this year, will be among the most advanced of its type in the world and is considered to be the first in the UK. Dorman Machinery's managing director, Chris Boraston, comments: 'CNC match grinding - where an external diameter on one part is ground to precisely match its twin components bore diameter or vice versa - is among the most demanding of high precision grinding tasks. There are few grinding machines capable of carrying out this process - let alone delivering the tolerances required on a high volume production basis.
