With the development of the magnetostriction tester Dr. Brockhaus Messtechnik GmbH & Co. KG, Luedenscheid, has opened up a whole new area of applications: the extremely sensitive area of shadow mask production. The shadow mask is one of the most important and at the same time one of the most sensitive components within a television or monitor screen. It has a thickness between 0.12 and 0.24 mm and, depending on the size of the screen, between 250 000 and 2.5 million perforations through which the concentrated electron beams are precisely directed.
