Life after Longbridge

THE old adage 'What doesn't kill you makes you stronger' is a perfect fit for the West Midlands automotive supply chain a year on from the MG Rover closure. Many companies have proved there is life after Rover, winning more new business than they lost from the collapse. Charged with promoting and supporting the automotive component sector across the West Midlands, to improve its global competitiveness, Accelerate was swift to act on April 8 last year when Longbridge production ceased. Within hours the supplier response programme was set up and we worked closely with Advantage West Midlands to manage support for companies directly or indirectly affected.
