With about a year to go before the International Manufacturing Technology Show opens in Chicago, the sponsoring AMI is getting ready to communicate to its exhibitor companies a new pricing arrangement for booth set-up. The main feature of the new policy is that it will' give booth operators more certainty over a major portion of their IMTS 2006 expenses, AIvfT says. The idea is called Custom Block Pricing, audit will apply to all stands set up in the various halls of McCormick Place. It covers: furniture rental at each stand, and it provides for a fixed dollar charge, calculated per square foot, for the package of services. That will be in contrast to the previous practice, done at virtually all metalworking trade shows, of contracting for sendees on an hourly basis and then having no control over how long it actually takes to complete the set-up job.
