Preussag Stahl, Germany, to expand secondary metallurgy

In spring 1996 the German subsidiaries of Voest-Alpine Industrieanla-genbau (VAI), Technometa" (consortium leader), Fuchs Systemtechnik', Deut-sche Voest-Alpine Industrieanla-genbau (DVAI)3) as well as to the companies Voest-Alpine Machinery, Construction & Engineering and Rayen Elin Industrieautomation4' owned by the VA Tech Group have been awarded a contract by Preussag Stahl AG for the supply of a secondary metallurgical center for the Salzgitter Steelmaking plant. The contract value amounts to approximately 50 million DM. The new secondary metallurgical plants will be installed for the treatment of more than 4 million t/year steel.
