Aspects of variant RH plant design

The new melt shop at Panzhi-hua Iron & Steel, China, is an example of a modern secondary metallurgy process line consisting of a ladle furnace and an RH plant. Analysis precision, purity and lowest hydrogen content of the steel are achieved also by the use of advanced process automation. Over the last few years SMS Mevac has further improved the equipment and metallurgy of RH plants. A sophisticated process established for the treatment of steels meets highest customer demands as it enables the attainment of lowest carbon and hydrogen contents during shortest treatment periods and at minimum processing costs.
