Meishan to modernize continuous slab caster

Meishan Co. Ltd., Shanghai, placed an order with VAI Industries (UK) ltd., the UK based subsidiary of Voest-Alpine Industrieanlagenbau (VAI), for the revamping of the 1-strand slab caster No. 2 at the Meishan plant of the Baosteel Group. VAI has been nominated the project leader in a consortium with Siemens, Germany, supplier of the automation and electrical systems.The order value is approx. Euro 13 million.
