In October 2001, Voestalpine Stahl placed an order with Voest-Alpine Industrieanlagenbau (VAI) together with other companies directly contracted by Voestalpine Stahl GmbH to erect hot-dip galvanizing plant No. 3.The scope of supply for the cold strip division at VAI consists of the engineering and delivery of the equipment for strip transport in the entire line, a welding machine, skin-pass mill, tension leveler, and side trimmer. VAI is the consortium leader and responsible for interface coordination for the entire project. The VAI automation business area is responsible for delivery of the entire software and hardware for automation (basic automation, technological control system, level 2 coil data processor).
