Reduction of operating costs in wire rod and bar mills with RSB technology

The new Reducing and Sizing Block, RSB, combines high-efficiency reduction and precision sizing. Closest tolerances and perfect surfaces can be achieved with this new technology. Furthermore, it allows a great variety of steel grades to be rolled. Nevertheless, down-times are drastically reduced, whereas both mill availability and yield have been considerably increased, All these measures positively effect conversion costs. Commercial investigations show a pay-back period for the advanced RSB technology of only 1-1.5 years.
