Ltd., Maanshan, in the Anhui Province, into a single-strand mill for high-grade steel wire rod with an annual production capacity of around 500000 t. SMS Demag's consortium partner for the supply of the electrical equipment is Siemens AG, Germany~(2)).The revamping measures for the two-strand wire rod mill, which was built by SMS Demag and put into operation in 1987, include modifications to the roughing and intermediate trains, additional pre-finishing stands, new shears, loop technology with cooling sections, finishing block and FRS block (Flexible Reduction and Sizing system) including the CCT computer model (Controlled Cooling Technology) which enables the simulation and control of the rolling and cooling process. in addition, SMS Demag will supply a diameter measuring devices, pinch-roll units with laying heads and a new coil forming station with a ring distribution system and modify the coil handling system.
