ASIA METALS: SHFE copper price stays under pressure despite better Chinese inflation data

Copper prices on the Shanghai Futures Exchange remained underpressure during Asian trading hours on Friday despite stronger-thanexpectedChinese September inflation data.The price of the most active SHFE December copper contract slipped230 yuan ($34) to 37,400 yuan per tonne, with around 179,000 lotschanging hands so far in the day. Open interest of the contract wasclose to 200,000 positions, down from 205,370 positions atWednesday’s close.
