MPIF Standard 35 has been providing powder metallurgy engineers with data on mechanical and magnetic material powders for some time and it has recently been updated to include a range of new materials.The information was generated through testing programmes conducted by the Metal Injection Moulding Association, using fine metal powders mixed with a binder to produce intricate precision metal parts.Peter Johnson, Managing Editor of the International Journal of Powder Metallurgy, explains the updated information.In an effort to provide the most up-to-date physical and mechanical properties information to design engineers, the powder metallurgy (PM) industry recently introduced major revisions to MPIF Standard 35, Materials Standards for PM Structural Parts.
