Flat steel prices remained unchanged in the USA this week as viewson the direction of the market continued to diverge.Metal Bulletin sister publication AMM’s price assessment for hotrolled coil (HRC) from US Midwest mills was unchanged at $20 perhundredweight ($400 per ton), with cold rolled coil (CRC) and hotdipped galvanized (HDG) base prices steady at $27.50 per cwt ($550 perton).But while HRC prices were, on average, unchanged, the rangewidened to $19-21 per cwt ($380-420 per ton). And more deals may beavailable, compared with recent weeks, which could pull down thelower end of that range, market participants said.
